This Motherhood Medal, 2nd Class was given in 1957 to an unidentified Lithuanian woman who lived in exile in Zaigraevo District, Buryat-Mongol ASSR. According to its statute, the 2nd Class Medal was awarded to women who gave birth to and raised five children. Description of exhibitThe medal is round and made of bronze. The face has a profile image of a mother and child. The top part features a small convex star with forking beams, and the bottom part a band inscribed with the letters “СССР.” Along the medal’s periphery is a narrow laurel wreath. On the reverse of the medal is an image of hammer and sickle between the inscription "MEDAL' MATERINSTVA"[“MOTHERHOOD MEDAL”] along the periphery. The medal edge is edged with a collar, and all the inscriptions and images are convex. The medal is connected, with an eye and a ring, to a white-enameled metal bow ribbon bordered with two green stripes strapped with a patterned plate in the middle.
