A suitcase containing tools for making boots. It belonged to Kazimiras Juskenas, who was deported along with his family from the Zarasai okrug of Lithuania to Siberia. K. Juskenas died in Siberia. When his son was released from exile he brought the suitcase and the tools back to Lithuania. The suitcase is kept in the Priekule Museum of Exile and the Struggle for Freedom (Priekule, Lithuanian Republic). It was given to the Museum by Roze Juskeniene in 2006. Description of exhibitA plywood suitcase, painted brown on the outside. Inside there are shoe-maker’s tools: several scraps of leather (including the top parts of boots), several pieces of emery-paper, three metal plates, an instrument in the shape of a dining-room spoon (?), a semi-circular iron milling cutter, a pencil, an awl and four lasts.
 
State of preservationThe surface of the suitcase has numerous scratches, the paint has come off in places, the handle and the hinges are rusty. The metallic parts of the tools are covered in rust and the wooden handles have splits and numerous scratches.
