A dress from about 1953. Made and embroidered by Elena Ilginaite-Miežetienė when she was in exile in Krasnoyarsk Krai. It is kept in the Priekule Museum of Exile and the Struggle for Freedom (Priekule, Lithuanian Republic). It was given to the Museum by E. Ilginaite-Miežetienė in 2006. (Photo December, 2010)

Description of exhibitA dress made out of dark-grey part-woollen mix material and made to measure. It has a round neck, normal, inset long sleeves with cuffs (and a 3-button fastener) and slit pockets. There is embroidery on the bust and on the edges of the pockets, consisting of white flowers embroidered in Mouliné stitch.
 
State of preservationThe decorative stitch is partly missing and there are large holes in one of the sleeves.
 
Detailed annotationA dress made out of dark-grey part-woollen mix material. There is embroidery on the bust and the pockets. About 1953. The dress was made and embroidered by Elena Ilginaite-Miežetienė while she was in exile in Krasnoyarsk Province. In exile she got married and had children. She returned to Lithuania between 1965 and 1968. The dress is kept in the Priekule Museum of Exile and the Struggle for Freedom (Priekule, Lithuanian Republic). It was given to the Museum by E. Ilginaite-Miežetienė in 2006.
